AS TIME GOES BY

In the "Salt & Pepper" Gallery I will show you black-and-white series. Although I work mostly digital nowadays, I still like to work with the B&W expression.

This serie has a bit of a melancholic touch, It was shot in april 2010, when I went to the island Fårö in the Baltic sea with some photographer friends. The plan was originally to go to Africa, Botswana, but we got caught at the airport, when they were closing down because of the ash cloud from Iceland. After some days we realized that we were NOT going anywhere abroad and made the decision to got to Gotland and Fårö for some days.

The climate is a bit different than africa and it was really cold some days. Also the island has such a different character at low season than in the summer during the tourist invasion. There are some really popular beaches here. I actually did sleep outdoors on the beach one night which was a great experience (even though it was snowing a little...). Maybe all of this set the ambient for the serie.
